We know that what we eat is important for our health, but it can be very hard to choose the right foods.

Many of us need to track certain things in the food we eat, like:

  • Carbohydrates

Most of the time we have to read food labels to do this, but those can be confusing and hard to follow.

Leslie will simplify the food label and explain how we can use it to make sense of what is in the foods we eat. Please join us for this informative workshop and learn how to use food labels as tools to enjoy a healthier diet.

Whether you are living with one of the many chronic diseases that require a low-salt diet, or you just want to eat healthier (which, yes, does mean less salt!), then join us for this cooking class at our Falmouth kitchen.

Learn from two people who love (and cook for!) family members on low-salt diets.

We will talk about how to easily reduce your salt intake, share recipes and do some taste-testing of foods we have made in our kitchen.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction AM

The 9-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program is designed to help you cope more effectively with both long and short term stressors.

Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, MBSR has been scientifically proven to enhance the ability to manage and reduce pain levels, improve focus, resilience and the capacity to recover more quickly from challenging life events.

Taught by approved and certified teacher of MBSR, instruction involves mindful meditation practices, discussion, gentle stretching and yoga (appropriate for all ability levels).

In addition to the 8 Wednesday classes, an all-day retreat takes place Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9am to 3pm 

For those who registered after Sept. 6, participation is required  at the Intro/Orientation on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 6:00-7:30pm.
